A delegation led by Prof. Rui Martins, Vice Rector (Global Affairs), Ms. Cindy Lam, Director of Alumni and Development Office, Mr. Elvo Sou, Section Head of Student Counselling Section  and Dr. Natalie Wong, Functional head of Vice-Rector’s office (Student Affairs) visited alumni’s enterprises, Funny Eye Brewery & AS King Medical Products Limited.

The delegation visited Funny Eye Brewery, which was nurtured under the incubation programe of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and is the only brewery with the beer brewing technique in Macau. The alumni and founders, Crystal Kwok, Lucas Lio and Alison Tam shared the difficulties and challenges they encountered, and expressed gratitude to the university for the support received. The delegation then had a tour of the factory and learned about the brewing process. Prof. Rui Martins wished they could follow their original aspiration and continue to uphold the spirit of “Made in Macao”, as well as be encouraged to seek chances to exchange with the university’s research team.

Afterwards, the delegation visited the mask production factory of AS King Medical Products Limited and was received by the Executive Director and alumnus Danny Chau. Danny shared the story of setting up the factory in Macau during the pandemic outbreak. The delegation then had a tour of the factory to learn about the production chain medical masks.  Prof. Martins said he is proud of Danny’s giving back to the society, which sets a good example for the young students. The University is supportive to the development of alumni companies and welcomes opportunity for exchanges and cooperation in aspects like talent nurturing and technological innovation.
