In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the alma mater, the University of Macau (Hong Kong) Alumni Association (UMHKAA) donated a bamboo grove to the alma mater. The plaque set up ceremony was held outside the bamboo grove next to the Sports Complex (N8) on 17 January (Saturday), as part of the celebratory events of the Opening Ceremony for the Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of UM and Open Day. The ceremony was officiated by Vice Rector (Global Affairs), Prof. Rui Martins; Director of Alumni and Development Office (ADO), Ms. Cindy Lam and representatives of UMHKAA. UMHKAA wished to show their appreciation through donating the bamboo grove to the alma mater. In view of the latest epidemic situation, the bamboo grove unveiling ceremony will be held later.
