The “2024/2025 Alumni Mentorship Scheme” (AMS), which was co-organized by the Alumni and Development Office (ADO) and the Career Development Centre (CDC) of Student Affairs Office, has officially kicked off in September 2024. To enhance communications between alumni mentors and student mentees, the Dragon’s Beard Candy Making Workshop was organized on 16 November 2024 (Saturday) as the second group activity of the program in this academic year.
Dragon’s beard candy is a traditional snack in Macao, and its confection was included in the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Macao in 2020. This activity allowed participants to experience the entire process of making dragon’s beard candy, and to understand this Intangible Cultural Heritage of Macao from different perspectives. During the activity, both mentors and mentees tasted their production and took photos with each other to record their good memories.
The “Alumni Mentorship Scheme” aims to encourage alumni to give back to their Alma Mater and creates more opportunities for current students to broaden their social networks; and build up friendship with mentors from different professional sectors.
