The rock-climbing experience was the first activity of the “2019 Alumni Mentorship Scheme” course held at the rock-climbing center in the Sports Centre (N8) on 19 October.  Through this activity, the organizers wish to enhance participants’ stress management and foster their courage, to train up their self-affirmation, self-confidence and willpower that could be applied in daily life.

Under the guidance of certified instructors of UM Rock Climbing Club of the UM Students’ Union, participants made their trial on climbing a 15-meter high climbing wall and a 5-meter high bouldering wall. After warming-up and practicing for a while, participants were able to get control the basic skills of rock climbing.  Some alumni mentors could even reach the summit for their first trial on climbing and felt very accomplished.
