“2025/2026 Alumni Mentorship Scheme” Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony of the “Alumni Mentorship Scheme” (scheme), which was co-organized by the Alumni and Development Office and the Career Development Centre, was held on 24 January (Saturday) in the Auditorium of the UM Library.  The scheme has been launched since September last year, with over 80 alumni and students were matched according to their backgrounds and interests. During the scheme, mentors and students had participated in different group activities and team meetings to exchange ideas and experiences, fostering a closer mentor-mentee relationship.

Mr. Paul Pang, Dean of Students, expressed his gratitude to the alumni who shared different experiences and advices as mentors,  also cultivate the next generation. He also encouraged the mentees to cherish and draw inspiration from their mentors’ valuable experiences, and turn the mentor-mentee relationships into lifelong friendships.

Afterwards, the “Appreciation certificates”, “Active Participation Award”, “Outstanding Mentees Award” and “Outstanding Mentor Award” were presented to mentors and mentees respectively. Meanwhile, Outstanding Mentor Awardee, Tang Wai Keong, and his mentee, also the Outstanding Mentees Awardee, Zhou Xiaoyan, shared their insights of the scheme with the participants.

The scheme has been held constantly for 17 years, aims to encourage alumni to give back to their Alma Mater, while creating opportunities for students to learn more about society and develop a mentor-mentee relationship.
